The Aspen Music Festival and School is the United States' premiere summer classical music festival. The eight-week summer season brings together 600 music students from around the world for more than 400 events featuring top-tier classical music artist-faculty and guest-artists. 

 

As a Marketing and PR intern for the 2018 summer season, I assisted with several aspects of the festival's communication including social media, website, newsprint media, in-house print publications and posters.

"Talia worked with the Communications department for the 2018 season at the Aspen Music Festival and School and we couldn't have been more pleased. From day one, she jumped right in and took it upon herself to learn more about classical music and the artists performing throughout the season. She assisted with writing copy and designing weekly posters, managing social media channels, interviewing student performers, season photography shoots, copy editing using Chicago and the AMFS house style, media relations, writing program book inserts, and more. Her positive attitude throughout the busy summer contributed to a great office energy and she always went above and beyond what was asked of her. Social Media

During the eight-week festival, we produced multiple social media posts every day on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. I was responsible for writing engaging copy, selecting photos from the festival photographers, and publishing posts to nearly 50,000 combined followers. One notable success is we increased the festival's Instagram following by 48% in eight weeks. Below you will see the social media season recap I presented to the Marketing Department.

Strategic Writing

The Festival Focus is a publication produced by the AMFS and printed weekly with the Aspen Times, a free daily newspaper that covers the Roaring Fork Valley. During my time at the festival, I wrote two pieces. 

Published in the 2019 AMFS "Impromptu" Magazine and distributed to dozens of businesses in the Aspen and Snowmass area.

Graphic Design and Reporting

One thousand of these inserts were placed in the program books for two opera performances. Creating them involved interviewing each performer and editing and arranging the template in InDesign.
